Bagpiper for Hire Burbank
Harry Farrar, Director of Scottish Pipes & Drums, performed for a memorial service on November 12th at American Lutheran Church in Burbank, CA. The setting inside the church was classic and well set up for acoustical music. Rev. Nancy held the service, and well over 100 people were there to pay respects. Noteably, “Going Home” was requested by the family, and it is a popular tune choice for services because it talks about the eventuality of “going home”.
Traditional Church Services:
Often, bagpipes are at the beginning and at the close of the service. The acoustics in the church setting are moving and impressive. In some cases, the Bagpipes can be accompanied by the choir or the traditional pipe organ. Tunes from the Bagpipes can include “Danny Boy,” “The Skye Boat Song,” and “How Great Thou Art.”
Graveside ceremonies:
Interestingly, Bagpipes can be comforting for the conclusion of the funeral. And “Amazing Grace” is most common. Because music is not always available for the conclusion of the ceremony, Bagpipes provide a simple way to fill the air with this historical sound and melodies.
