Bag Piper St. Monica Church. Harry Farrar as Bagpiper, begins a special memorial service at St.Monica Catholic Church in Santa Monica, CA. And, the service was led off with “Going Home”. Also, “Amazing Grace” concluded the event with a recessional.

The acoustics in this famous Church were amazing. Often the bag piper can perform at a reception following the service. Interestingly, a favorite local place is Ye Olde King’s Head. And, the setting is very British and the best menu includes the best Fish & Chips in the Western United States. St. Monica Catholic Church is one of the older buildings. Reportedly, it was built in the early 1900’s. Additionally, multi lingual masses are scheduled regularly.

Bag Piper St. Monica Church | Pacific Palisades Presbyterian
Since this original post in 2017, Harry has performed many hundreds of events in the Southland. Popular locations for bagpipe players include Malibu, Bel-Air, Pasadena and Glendale. Additionally, Beverly Hills, Pacific Palisades, Camarillo and Santa Clarita are common wedding hubs. Also, Santa Monica (Bag Piper Fav!) and coastal towns like Venice and Ventura are cooler for summer events. Additionally, TV and media is located around Studio City and Burbank-Hollywood.
Interestingly, this update is Oct, 2024. In the last 10 years Harry bagpiped at many Southland Catholic Churches. And, many are over 125 years old. Amazingly, these Churches are large and have big congregations. Also, the late 1800’s gave us huge indoor cathedral ceilings.
