BagPipePlayers.com participated in the 49th Annual Monterey Scottish Games
This festival and Highland Scottish games hosted many competition events in dancing, drumming and bagpiping.
Harry Farrar Jr. placed with two first prizes and one second and a trophy. Cassidy Farrar placed in with five (5) firsts and a trophy in the dancing.
The dance judge was well know Ann Johnson from Portland Oregon, and the bagpipe judge was Pipe Major Glen Thompson from Torrance CA.
Special this year was the return of Harry Farrar V (a former 3 time US Champions Highland Dancer) as the piper for the Scottish Dancing after a 15 year break.
Harry Farrar Jr. was especially pleased to play as a dance piper for the first time with a well executed dance tune of “Blue Bonnets Over the Border”. SP&D is looking forward to attending the 50th Monterey Games next year.
