Old 2005 Audio of Easter Bagpiper

I found this memory of me on the bagpipes from 20 years ago! Malibu Presbyterian Church invited me to perform at the church, on the hill over looking the Pacific.

The hymn “Christ Is Risen” was the tune I was to play at the 6AM Sunday mass. The choir and a 20 piece orchestra did a rehearsal with me, the night before. Rehearsing was important because the service was to be televised. At the time, cell phone? what’s that? I had this old hand-held voice tape recorder and put it in my big feather bonnet. This is the recording. And a powerful video software of the day!

Unbelievably, a regional fire that started in Valencia, burned to the sea, through Malibu. This typically happens every twenty years. A couple of years after this recording the original church burned down.

This audio shows that Easter Sunday lives on.
