Bagpipers and Drums | Westlake July4 Parade. What a great day to celebrate as seen in this 2017 picture on Westlake Blvd. The tradition continues and will happen Friday July 4th 2025. This year the band is smaller but Bill, Amanda and Harry will continue the tradition. In fact, Harry has been offering professional bagpiper services in Southern California since 1981! Indeed, weddings are a common request. And, there are always charity events, golf, and corporate events for bagpipes. Bagpipeplayers.com has headquarters in Woodland Hills. Often, Harry performs for special events in Summerland, CA. Also, at Elings Park Weddings and Carpenteria.
Westlake Bagpipers | Church Weddings
Here are notes from 2017: Bagpipes and Drums performed for the third year at the July 4th Parade in Westlake Village. Performers from several families participated including the Watsons, Farrars and McGillivray. The piper of most interest was Gary Dickey, who is a local resident for many years and a retired pastor.
Scottish Bagpipes and Drums is based in Woodland Hills, California. We perform regularly from Santa Barbara to San Diego, from Malibu to Palm Springs. Ventura county has a wonderful climate that is great for bagpipes!
Pipers have performed for the music and movie industry as well as television. Including appearances on American Housewife, Holey Moley, Jay Leno, Lassie, Home Improvement. And, musical presences for Honda, Rod Stewart, How To Tame a Dragon and many others. Also, bagpipe players from SP&D performs at the annual Lompoc Flower Festival Parade in June each year. Last year (24) Awarded 2nd prize in parade ! Similar energy to the Westlake Village July 4th Parade.

Most importantly, this group has been blessed to be part of many hundreds of weddings over the years and have enjoyed making new life long friends. The reality of pipes at funerals has also been a roll for the families who connect with the Celtic traditions that bagpipe players bring to ceremonies of this nature. Impressively, Harry performes weddings at Calvary Community Church. Also, Church of Latter-Day Saints, Newbury Park. Sometimes, a graveside can be held at Conejo Mountain Cementery.
