The St. Andrew’s Societies continues to flourish.  Their fundamental purpose is advancing charitable and cultural causes within the ambiance of Scottish heritage. And, this started in Charleston, South Carolina in 1729, Savannah in 1750, New York in 1756, and Philadelphia in 1847. They have propagated to our west coast with San Francisco in 1883 and our own Los Angeles in 1930.

Additionally, founders of the Los Angeles Society, James Loudon, OBE (1882–1975) and Alexander S. Cowie (1882–1968) followed the same honorable tradition with positive changes.
